Welcome to The Fold
Hi Everyone,
You're receiving this from me because you've reached out in the past: you either signed up for this, bought or inquired about artwork / workshops or wanted to know when I'll be in your city folding things.
This seems like the best way to directly reach people who support my work. If you don't want to know what I'm up to, please unsubscribe. My feelings won't be hurt. I don't like being on email lists either.
That’s why I aim to make this less like a typical email newsletter and more like a secret insiders club. Hence, we are calling this THE FOLD. There will be things you will read about in here that you won't read about elsewhere, or you will read it long before anyone not on the list.
With that, here are some secrets of The Fold.
Secret #1.
I am releasing a new series today!
Ara 312 is available in both Indigo and White and measures 16” x 16” x 1/2”.

You can find it and the rest of the Eight Emperors open edition collection here.
Secret #2
I’ll be teaching in August 2020 at Haystack in Maine.
The class is team taught by myself and Valpuri Remling from the Tamarind Institute. It will be a 2 week printmaking/ paper art intensive. Students will explore paper and print media as they create folded works of art using printmaking and paper engineering as a starting point.
Students will learn the elements of both paper mechanics and traditional print techniques then apply them to books, collapsible structures, and foldable sculpture. Some 2D techniques in print will include creating texture, blends, color mixing, roller handling, layering, and monotype. The 3D portion will include curve folding, pleating systems, and modular design in paper craft.
I will let you know how to sign up when the class is officially announced!
Secret #3
Lastly, my book is FINALLY happening.
It will be released via Thames and Hudson’s imprint Volume. They specialize in making custom Art books and Monographs. This book is 10 years of work in a 250 page book. There will be essays from Lawrence Weschler and Eric Broug, an interview with Stuart Kestenbaum and tiered levels of support.
You can get the book alone or the book + print, + 3D Art piece, + limited edition vinyl record with Ghostly Artists…
More info on that in the coming months. The launch will be this Fall and you should have the book by Spring 2020.
That’s all for now.
Best,
