Studio moving sale
I hope you are maintaining.
I'm writing this beside my 7 year old as she starts week two of virtual second grade. Who knew you could feel the spectrum of human emotion so quickly.
At the start of the summer, people began leaving the shared studio I run in Ann Arbor: as a university town, Covid-19 is taking its toll. I covered the studio rent here and there, but last week my final studio mates gave notice. Keeping the studio is unattainable.
Ten years ago I moved from my home studio into a space that flourished with five other working artists. Throughout the years, over 30 artists thrived and helped create an arts community in Ann Arbor. To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. I’m trying to stay positive because the U.S. arts communities are reinventing themselves. We don’t know what we will look like at the end of this pandemic.
In the coming weeks I am moving the studio, so a virtual art sale is a must. I’m happy to extend a discount to anything at this top secret link. Or go to Eight Emperors and use the code 10YEARS for 30% off.
Thank you to everyone who reached out and bought work this summer. We raised over $24,000 for food banks and other charities. Later this Fall the art auctions will continue on Instagram so we can add more good in the world. We all need it right now.
Stay safe,
Matt
