Upcoming Shows
It is encouraging to see gallery and museum programs resume and have people experience art in person again. I have a few shows opening this summer in the US and abroad.
On June 26th Light Years opens at Heather Gaudio Fine Art in New Canaan CT. It will feature new pieces in the Omoplata, Ara and Unholy series from the past two years. I'm exciting to have all the new pieces together for the first time. A virtual gallery talk is planned but the date is not yet set. The show runs through August 7.
I have two pieces in the CODA museums Paper ART 2021 show opening today June 5th in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. This show features artists working in paper such as Paperholm, Charles Clary, Zimoun and Kelli Anderson. Though I won’t be there in person, Kelli and I are doing a live Instagram studio tour and talk on June 12 at 6pm EST. I met Kelli at the Movable Book Society Conference and instantly became a huge fan. This is unscripted and super informal so jump on the live stream and ask us anything.
If you’re in Michigan this summer visit the Cranbrook Academy of Art Museum's WITH EYES OPENED opening June 18th. This behemoth of a show highlights alumni and faculty since 1932. I’m honored to be shown amongst artists who are pioneers in their disciplines: Charles & Ray Eames, Saarinen, Anne Wilson, Nick Cave, Cas Holman, Keetra Dean Dixon. Cleon Peterson has a giant mural in one gallery. It’s going to be fun.
Lastly, an Instagram art auction update: So far this summer’s auctions have raised just over $5200 for charity. We have donated to the Okra Project, Ele’s Place, Stop AAPI hate, and the Crohns and Colitis Foundation. The auctions will continue through the summer, with new pieces posted bi-weekly on Wednesdays, with a goal to raise 20K this year. There are still a lot of people and nonprofits in need. As always, if you have a cause close to your heart, let me know.
